Understanding the requirements of the RDUE
Compliance with the EU Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) requires actors in the agricultural supply chains to strengthen the reliability of their data and the traceability of their supplies.
From December 30, 2026, cocoa operators and traders will have to comply with new European Union regulations. These regulations also apply to other commodities: rubber, coffee, oil palm, timber, soybeans, and cattle. Operators and traders placing products on the European Union market, or exporting them from the European Union, must demonstrate that their products are:
- Sourced from zero deforestation
- 100 % traceable throughout the supply chain
- Compliant with current legislation
